Product change on the fly

Filling processes require process steps that are adapted for the viscosity and volume of the particular fluid. That's why today there is such a large variety of machines for handling different fluids. With the development of a new generation of machines for precise processing of a broad range of fluids, the collaboration between French machine manufacturer Stoppil and B&R has resulted in a highly flexible universal solution with extremely short processing times.

Considering the continuously changing volume and packaging requirements, the ability to make quick adjustments to the filling process for each new product is a key competitive advantage. In the past, Stoppil has impressed well-known producers from various industries (such as Procter & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser) with the flexibility and reliability of their machine solutions.

Designed to process a wide range of volumes, the Stoppil filling machines can handle anything from 50 ml flacons to 20 liter canisters. With an operating speed of 1 to 100 doses per minute, they can be perfectly adapted to the particular production requirements. The use of intelligent sensor technology also ensures systematic handling of various types of fluids, such as corrosive fluids (e.g. acid, bleach), as well as fluids with medium or high viscosity (e.g. liquid soap, shampoo, oils, sauces and more).

Machine variants from an ecological perspective

As a result of continuously increasing ecological demands, Stoppil places great importance on machine concepts that save energy and resources. For example, the integrated and fully automatic cleaning system distinguishes itself with considerably reduced water consumption.

During development of the new machines, emphasis was placed on using the most modern automation and sensor technology available. The combination of intelligent sensors and servo drives from B&R enables the nozzles to be adjusted systematically and the process parameters to be quickly changed without having to alter the mechanics. "Together with B&R, we were able to more clearly structure our electric switching cabinets, which resulted in a considerable reduction in maintenance," explains Stéphane Chiry, Sales Director at Stoppil.

Automation system brings energy efficiency

The central control element is a Power Panel, which combines control, visualization and drive technology into a single compact tool. Stéphane Chiry also points out the high level of software integration, thanks to Automation Studio. "The use of a single automation platform significantly reduced the number of >>
